« on: January 15, 2014, 08:22:52 PM »
Ok folks some of you know i had a tank on order from nd aquatics, well it came today and i am very impresses. Tank was around 800 with central weir, 2 x 32mm holes and 25mm hole, cover glass, black weir and back ground.

Sump has top up chamber to the far right and a space away from water for all elec goodies

Ok here we go, i ordered an 4x2x2, cabinet, sump with added top up chamber,  cover glass, black weir and black background. I then thought sod around 3 weeks after i had ordered the tank rang them back to make it a 5x2x2 same spec.

Plumbing as always from coral culture, i have tried some some other placed but pipe was far to flimsy also cracked when cutting with pvc cutters so that lot went in the bin.

So old tank out first and what a job that was, 6 lads a hacked door frame transit van and huge tyre marks on the grass job done.

had to take a good few mill off the door frame, would of taken it out but bloody thing is bolted in to the concrete beams

On the way out jeez it was heavy, the girls were great bless them, around 20 cuppas and four bags of biscuits keep the lads going, oh had to remove front door as well to get it out lol

Was certainly a tight fit

Just to turn it around to clear the banister now

Carl the bloke with a lot to answer for, sound lad one in a million the tanks going to his house.

Grass was soaking tank only just fitted though gate posts then straight in to the back of the transit

At last !! Just got it all to do again at the other side oh the joys !

Repairing of the door frame had to cut the lot out push the bolts though drilled in to the concrete pillars and fit a new frame, new door to follow another job on the never ending list

Not to sure why he always looks happy when destroying our house, was cutting a load of trees down in the summer and had the same look lol

Just waiting for the new carpet then tank will be going in at long last !

A bit of setting up now

Dry fitting of the pipework, Drains are twin 32mm and return is 25mm. I like to branch off the return pump to run reactors uvs etc, this saves cash on forking out for other pumps, saves elec also doesnt put more heat in the tank from all the extra pumps.

This was the cheap crap pipe, when the new stuff came from coral culture this went in the bin, as soon as you turned a ballvalve the whole pipe flexed

The completed manifold

Connects to far right 25mm pipe

Now to fill ! Fish and corals were in the bath for a week the mrs was not best impressed but needs must !

Should take around 3 days to fill then will just throw the salt in

So day one

Day two

Galexia still coming back after the magnesium went off the scale around 12 months ago

Need to plumb in the uv and reactors next, the bubble magus nac9 was a good fit in the sump, got around 10kg of rock with corals in the sump that will be going to a new home soon

Light in the sump has now been taken out and replaced with a 30w 10k led for now

Tried to avoid 90 deg fittings on the drains where i could to cut down on potential noise, seems to of worked only thing you can hear is the powerheads, return pump is an 4000lph for now putting an order in for a 6000lph dc one
