moving reef
« on: December 28, 2015, 02:22:50 PM »
Hi Guys,
I am moving my tanks. I am in a new house. I have no fish, very little coral and some critters, snails, crabs etc.
I know I will have to semi start over, cant save all the water. What do I do with the purple Coraline. Do I clean it off or let it go.
Should have water back in about 2 days Thanks

You could probably just let it go with the ca.  You can even mist it with some salt water in a spray bottle if you like every now and again (if that's possible for you).  You can keep your rocks and some other things out of water for several hours (with and occasional misting).  That's what kind of happens in real life with low tide... Last time I moved my tank I put all my rocks in some 5 Gallon buckets and drained the old tank water in with them.  By the time I got back to them the water was freezing cold a few days later.  All my fish (but 1) were dead, but all my corals and most of the other inverts made it, and the LR looked just fine.  And the little critters (copepods, etc.) are still teaming.  Good luck with the move.
