redtop03s plywood tank
« on: April 19, 2013, 03:30:55 AM »
my tank has changed some since I first started it,a lot of the equipment has been upgraded as I could afford it...the tank is 3 years old now,as of 5-31-12

right now I'm using better lighting, better skimmer, and better pumps....but these pics are of it as it progressed

this is it as it is now... :D

my equipment now is..

Reeflo Orca 250 skimmer fed from the tank overflow
4 250w Lumatek electronic ballasts
4 Lumen Bright DE pendants with Phoenix 250w 14000k DE bulbs
2 twin bulb retro fit 54w T5HO with ATI blue + bulbs for actinic
Reeflo Hammerhead pump with an Oceans Motion 4 way for a closed loop
Vortech MP60 with battery back up for waving action and as a safety flow if the power goes out...very nice addition I might add :D
NextReef MR-1 XL media reactor with GAC and GFO
AC Jr,with temp. and PH probes
3 stealth 250w heaters and fans for heating and evaporative cooling
Little Giant 1325gph return pump, soon to be replaced with a Reeflo Dart

my reworked closed loop plumbing...

it was nearly impossible to do anything to the rear of the tank,it is still tough but at least I can reach the tank now

found some black elbows in ABS,I got the street elbows so the lower end isn't as large, they look so much better in there than the white did......they're also the long sweep,so they flow better too :D

I also added a black tee to the intake and 2 screens, that made a big difference in the suction by dividing it between the 2 screens, but it still has a very strong suction to it...

a few pics of my frags, not anything too spectacular there LOL

here's the chaeto side of the frag/fuge,notice the piece of plexiglass separating the 2 sections,it's just standing there, nothing but water flow from the twin prop powerhead holding it in place, but it keeps the chaeto spinning and in it's side of the tank LOL
