KZ Speed Glue
« on: November 29, 2011, 08:48:12 PM »
Is there an easy way to use this stuff??

I have a tub, and to mix is pretty straight foward but at the moment i have only used it out the tank to make frag plugs with, but the other day i tried using it to mount some branching hammer frags on to my frag plugs....sounds easy but the stuff was a PITA to use tuned the water grey, slimy wouldn't hold took ages to go off and when it did it was pretty poor.

So do any of you guys use it as i want to use for mounting frags  over the normal reef putty (two part stuff) as i though this stuff was supposed to be the schizle..so far i hate it.

So any tips on using this stuff properly would be greatly recieved.

I have used it several times with no bother i make a little at a time up about the size of a golf ball so its like bread dough not to stiff but not runny i then take out what i need sticking down and mould it into the bottom until its all smoothed out then i push it onto the rock in the tank and mould it round with my thumb dont mess with it to much as it will break away and make the water grey. If you are building a structure of reef bones out of the tank use wall creteas you can buy a 25kg bag for about 6 which is a lot cheaper but watch the PH as it will rise as i say its ok with an empty tank with reef bones. Why not try this one

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/React-Cyanoacrylate-Adhesive-Super-Glue-20g-/170736091544?pt=UK_Crafts_Cardmaking_Scrapbooking_Glue_Tape_EH&hash=item27c0aa0198

As long as it Cyanoacrylate gel and a quick setting one, the none gell types of glue trys to soak in to the corals which is not good
